"Jarpal Queen", trophy of 1971

THE JARPAL QUEEN - This Williys Jeep, made in U.S.A was captured by 3 Grenadiers, of the Indian Army from the Pakis during the Battle of Jarpal in Dec 1971. It’s still a prized possession of the unit and immaculately maintained.( The Urdu writing on the side bonnet is ‘War Trophy’)

It should have gone to the Grenadiers Museum, Jabalpur where we have another Willis Jeep ( which carried the 105 mm recoilless anti tank gun) which was used by CQMH Abdul Hamid of 4 Grenadiers who destroyed 8 Pakistani Patton tanks at the battle of Basantar in 1965 and was awarded the Param Vir Chakra posthumously.
