DRI Seizes more than 2000 Kg Ganja (Cannabis) and arrests 04Persons in two different operations.
 On the basis of specific intelligence, in two different operations in Chhattisgarh the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI), Raipur and Indore intercepted one Septic Tank cleaning Truck, one Scorpio & one Trailer Truck. Ganja of 1230 Kg was carrying in Septic Tank cleaning Truck and 838 Kg Ganja was carrying by Trailer Truck. Its local market value will be approximately 3.1 crore rupees.
    On 17.02.2020 the recovered 1230 Kgs of Ganja along with the Septic Tank cleaning Truck was seized and one person arrested under arrested under the provisions of NDPS Act, 1985. In another incidence at Champa three persons were arrested under the provisions of the NDPS Act, 1985 on 19/02/2020 with seizure of 838 Kg Ganja with Trailer Truck and Mahindra Scorpio escort vehicle.
In recent times, it has been noticed that drugs smugglers finding new ways of transporting Ganja. The banned drug Ganja (Cannabis) is  addictive, and it causes both short term and long term adverse effects on health. The intoxicating chemical in Ganja (Cannabis) is Tetra Hydra Cannabinol, or THC.
